– Anatole France

At Peaceful Paws, we believe in providing compassionate, dignified care in the comfort of your home. Our pricing is designed to be clear and straightforward, with no hidden fees. Please note that additional surcharges apply for visits scheduled after 8:00 PM as well as on recognized holidays, reflecting the extra resources required to ensure our team can be there for you whenever you need us. About Our Doctor

Dr. John Miskena, DVM

Peaceful Paws was founded by Dr. John Miskena, a second-generation veterinarian, U.S. military veteran, and lifelong animal lover. He owns West Woodward Animal Hospital and brings over 15 years of specialized end-of-life veterinary experience to every visit.
Dr. Miskena started Peaceful Paws after seeing too many pets spend their final moments stressed, afraid, or alone in clinical settings. His mission? To bring dignity, clarity, and peace to families facing one of life’s hardest decisions — right at home, where love lives.
He’s guided by one simple belief: Every pet deserves to leave this world in comfort, surrounded by love.

Set An Appointment

Not sure which service your pet needs? Our veterinarian will guide you through the options—whether it’s in-home euthanasia, a quality of life assessment, or a telehospice consultation—based on your pet’s condition and your family’s needs.

Prepare for the Visit

Before your appointment, we’ll provide clear information on what to expect and how to make your home as peaceful and comfortable as possible. You’ll have everything you need to feel prepared.

The Visit

Our veterinarian will arrive at your home and guide you through every step of the process with compassion and care. There is no rush. You’ll have time for goodbyes, reflection, and support throughout the visit.

After the Visit

While we do not provide cremation or memorial services directly, we’re here to guide you every step of the way. We can connect you with trusted local providers for cremation services, memorial keepsake options, and pet loss and grief support resources. Our team is always available to help you navigate these next steps with compassion, clarity, and respect.

Ongoing Support

We believe in being there for you beyond the appointment. If you need help processing grief or simply want to talk through the experience afterward, our team is here to listen and guide you toward helpful resources. Saying goodbye is never easy, but you don’t have to go through it alone.
